SATs (Year 6 National Tests)
Children currently in Year 6 will be taking the national curriculum tests (commonly called SATs) in May 2020. The tests are not qualifications and don’t affect your child’s future options in school but are used to evaluate your child’s educational progress at the end of Year 6. They make comparisons between children against the average attainment expectations for their respective age group.
Children are tested in English (Reading and Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) and Maths (Arithmetic and Reasoning) and the papers are sent away to be marked externally with results being available before your child leaves primary school in July.
A meeting for parents was held at Eton Park to provide further information about the end of Year 6 SATS assessments. The Power Point Presentation used during the meeting can be viewed by clicking on the attachment at the bottom of this page. You can also view the glossary shared with parents during the meeting.
